Painter: Bernadsky Gennady Valentinovich
Bernadsky Gennady Valentinovich - Painter's biography
Gennady Bernadsky was born in 1956 in Simferopol in a family of famous artists. Fascinated since childhood by painting, he graduated in 1984 with honors from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin. Trained in the creative workshop of professors V.M. Oreshnikov and B.S. Ugarov, and after that he lived and worked in Paris for several years. He has been a member of the Union of Artists since 1987, as well as a corresponding member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts.
«My works are united by the sun, joy, love and childhood. I think that an artist is a child with wide eyes. You need to write only experienced, close, write when a feeling permeates. As Antoine de Saint-Exupery remarked, "I come from childhood." Creating my paintings, I set myself the task of teaching people to enjoy life, to remember the world of childhood, when every day was like a discovery, like a new journey into the unknown. If you look at the world from this point of view, every day becomes happy.»
Gennady Bernadsky organically combines the "southern, temperamental" style of writing and the architectonics of the classical Russian school. Another feature of creativity was the influence of European culture (for three years the artist lived and worked in Paris). His paintings are like your closest friends. Sensitive, responsive, understanding. Among these works, you feel like not just another visitor to an art gallery, but a long-awaited guest at a big and bright celebration of life. Beauties look from the portraits by Bernadsky, whose images are both sensual and sophisticated. What will they do next? Will they reward you with a smile that appears in the corners of your lips, or will your silent dialogue be crossed out with a horizontal line of a frowning forehead? Equally probable events, the development of which is completely in the will of your imagination. And his still lifes do not want to “fit” into the two-dimensional spaces of the canvases and, “going” beyond their framework, easily find their way to our subconscious, awakening memories of the fresh aromas of spring.
