Armen Gasparyan - biography
Painter Gasparyan Armen Born in 1966 in the city of Kapan, South Armenia. In 1984 he moved to St. Petersburg. Graduated from the graphic arts faculty of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen. He is a member of the St. Petersburg Union of painters. Armen Gasparyan found his own artistic language, combining the traditions of classical art and the search for a fresh plastic form. In his canvases, ancient myths cast a stately and formidable gleam on modern images and destinies. The heroes of his paintings are harlequins, women, men, jesters, kings and philosophers. In his works, he portrays women as gentle and men as thoughtful. His paintings are complex and interesting, multifaceted and capacious, permeated with deep philosophical thought.
«The appearance of a painting is a sacrament. It begins with the line read, with the image seen. The impetus for the appearance of a picture can be incredible situations that start the process of creating a work of art. You nurture this idea, and then transfer it to canvas, choose a compositional, color scheme. This is a very exciting creative process that brings great joy and happiness.».
